Board Service

Serving on the Parents Club Board is voluntary. Board members are exempt from the Parent Hours requirement for their academic year in office. 

Board Meetings

The Parents Club Board meets monthly on the third Thursday. Our meetings are open. To address the Board, please join our agenda by contacting the President at least one week before the meeting.

PARENT HOURS

For TK-8 Families On Tuition Plan A

None of the below requirements apply to families on Tuition Plan B. 


By selecting Tuition Plan A, your family committed to contributing 24 Parent Hours* to our Parents Club's fundraising efforts. At least five hours must be earned from help with our Spring Gala and Auction. 


By selecting Plan A (reduced tuition) each family agrees to volunteer at specific events and participate in fundraisers.

New Families:

  • Hours Worked:

                  Mandatory: 6-hours (2 Oktoberfest, 2 OLF Celebration, 2 Spring Auction)

                  Unworked hours billed at a rate of $125.00 per hour

  • General: 6-hours

                   Unworked hours billed at a rate of $75.00 per hour

Returning Families:

  • Hours Worked:

                  Mandatory: 12-hours (4 Oktoberfest, 4 OLF Celebration, 4 Spring Auction)

                 Unworked hours billed at a rate of $125.00 per hour

  • General: 12-hours

                  Unworked hours billed at a rate of $75.00 per hour


*New Families: Families in your first year at OLF (with a TK student, Kindergartener or transfer student) are required to complete only 6 Parent Hours. You are a "first year" parent entitled to this hours reduction even if your child attended OLF Preschool.


The Parent Hours requirement is per family, no matter how many children from your family are enrolled. 

Raffle Calendar and Ticket Sales

For some Parents Club fundraisers, families on Tuition Plan A  must sell a minimum number of items or event or raffle tickets. You will earn 0.5 Parent Hours for each unit sold above the minimum requirement. 

Parents Club Meetings

During the school year, our Parents Club General Meetings are held monthly on the third Thursday. Any scheduling changes will be announced in the Weekly School Newsletter and updated on the school calendar. All parents are encouraged to attend our General Meetings. You will earn one Parent Hour per family for attending an entire meeting, as well as a Free Dress Day for your students.

Who Can Earn Hours

On behalf of each family, Parent Hours can be earned only by the enrolled child's parents, step-parents, grandparents and/or legal guardians. Families desiring an alternate arrangement must get advance approval from the Parents Club Board.

Earning Parent Hours

You can earn Parent Hours by:

  • Attending Parent Club meetings 
  • Helping to prepare for or set up fundraising events
  • Working at or cleaning up fundraising events 
  • Selling tickets to events and raffles
  • Donating auction items

Tracking Hours

You are responsible for tracking and reporting all earned Parent Hours. More information about our hours-tracking system will be shared at the beginning of the school year.

Transferring Hours

You may not transfer earned Parent Hours between families unless the Parents Club Board gives advance approval.

If You Don't Earn Enough Hours

Families are charged $75/hour except unearned Spring Gala and Auction hours are charged at $125/hour.
